![]() ![]() Please look for the uninstall script within the fusefs.fs/ directory itself. If the file system bundle in your MacFUSE installation doesn't have a Support subdirectory, that means you have an incredibly ancient version of MacFUSE. The install of Fusion 2.0 installed Macfuse on my system and now I would like to remove it. To uninstall MacFUSE on Mac OS X 10.5.x and above, you would run: sudo /Library/Filesystems/fusefs.fs/Support/uninstall-macfuse-core.sh If you didn't install it when installing Fusion 2.0 and it wasn't previously installed on the Host then you can either install it manually by downloading it from or uninstall/reinstall Fusion. MacFUSE, the Mac OS X version of the FUSE plug-in file system architecture, has been updated to 2.0. The bundle itself resides in /System/Library/Filesystems/ on Mac OS X 10.4.x and in /Library/Filesystems/ on Mac OS X 10.5.x.įor example, to uninstall MacFUSE on Mac OS X 10.4.x, you would run the following command in the Terminal: sudo /System/Library/Filesystems/fusefs.fs/Support/uninstall-macfuse-core.sh When Fusion 2.0 is being installed one is prompted to install MacFUSE if it isn't currently install on the Host. Run the uninstall-macfuse-core.sh script that resides in the Support subdirectory of the MacFUSE file system bundle. If you have an older version of MacFUSE, you can uninstall as follows. Note that an official (correct) MacFUSE installation will have a preference pane if you have MacFUSE 2.0 or later installed. To remove it, you should uncheck the button before you remove the prefpane as described above. Only if you had the "Show Beta Versions" button checked in the MacFUSE prefpane, you'll have a property list (plist) file remaining at this point: /Library/Preferences/. I use the latest version of MacFusion (2.0.4) and Mac. Now I cant mount remote hosts via SSH anymore. I was checking for updates as I am going to rebuild. MacFusion used to work like a charm until I updated to SnowLeopard 10.6.5 and MacFusion 2.0.4. I can't remember if 2.1.5 beta was a 'safe' release of MacFuse. If you do wish to remove it, you do it just like how you would remove any other non-Apple preference pane: In System Preferences, control-click (right-click) on the MacFUSE icon and you will see "Remove. I accidentally updated MacFuse from 2.0.3 to 2.1.5 beta (was checking if there was a new beta version, went to uncheck 'Show Beta Version' and stupidly clicked 'install' instead). You can keep the MacFUSE preference pane around should you decide to install MacFUSE again in the future. This will uninstall all MacFUSE components except the preference pane itself. Launch the Mac OS X System Preferences application and go to the MacFUSE preference pane. ![]()
